Tea and Tarot Events
Legend of the Traveling Tardis
I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of most HHN years since 1993 in some aspect. I think I have now worn every hat a performer can wear for the event! I’ve been a scareactor in both streets and houses, I’ve been in the parade when they had them, I’ve done multiple shows including Bill & Ted’s, queue line videos and voice over work for both houses and staged shows and I’ve even been an original icon character for the event from his beginning.
20+ years later and I am still happily at Universal Studios performing various roles through the parks. In my spare time I collaborate with my girlfriend on spooky themed custom clothing at VanityAPeril on Etsy & Instagram and I have been creating and building obstacles for skating with mostly horror but all geeky themes. Stay tuned to czech.skates on Instagram to see what I’m working on next!

Years ago, a man named Christian Basel obtained a TARDIS for the purpose of taking pictures of it in places “where the Doctor’s TARDIS has never been before.”
As Christian would go to conventions, he would talk with fellow WHOvians about his love and passion for Doctor WHO.
His reputation and knowledge would lead to him to perform and host Doctor WHO panels at conventions.
What started off as a fun hobby, has become an international icon across the convention world and the WHOniverse.
Now join over 35,000 fellow WHOvians and become part of the Legend…
The Legend of the Traveling TARDIS Radio Show on iHeart Radio and other media platforms.
Paul is a theater-trained, 30-year SAG/AFTRA veteran actor who also specialized in corporate communications writing, improvisational training and executive presentation coaching with a diverse portfolio of corporate clientele and clients within the trade show industry.
After seven years as a working actor in Florida, Paul branched out and began a career as a performance coach and creative director that began at Universal Studios Florida in 1994. He directed HHN’s 1994 and 1995 “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure”, two of the most successful B&T productions, and he went on to become a special events creative director and performance coach for the entire park. In 1996, Paul moved west when he was contacted by Landmark Entertainment to co-direct and then perform in Caesars’ Magical Empire at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. After working in the show for a couple of years, Paul later performed opposite David Cassidy and Sheena Easton in the show At the Copa which was produced at The Rio and then he became Vinny Black the show’s host and colorful cater in Vegas’s hit version of Tony-n-Tina’s Wedding. It was in Vegas where Paul spread his wings and began directing, writing and performing in the corporate theater and events industry. Since then he has worked in the U.S. and Europe as a trainer, facilitator, presenter and spokesperson for many Fortune 500 companies including: Intel, IBM, Siemens Medical Group, JLL, CitiBank, Cisco, HP, The Gap, Deloitte, and Entertainment Partners. As an executive speaker coach, Paul, for 12 years worked one-on-one and conducted multi-day persuasive speaking workshops for the likes of Deloitte and Touche, Jones Lang LaSalle, City National Bank and Westwood Centex.
In 2010, Paul honored a long-neglected desire to return to college. There, he obtained a degree in counseling, specifically for those suffering from substance abuse and addiction, and he has since become the SUD counselor for the entire Montebello Unified School District here in Los Angeles. In addition to his counseling and other creative works, Paul began exploring a long harbored love of photography and has for the past 5 years continued to hone his craft. He counts himself fortunate to have been commissioned by a few corporate clients to create works for them and to have sold works privately.
Lastly, Paul has every intention of returning to acting and he began that plan last year only to be cast in one theater production and three film shorts. Prior to the COVID crisis this year, Paul had two more projects in this works and he hopes, once the industry really gears back up, to pound the pavement for even more work. Paul wants to thank the event creators for asking him to participate in this round table and wishes them and all attendees all the best. Now go create something!
